Half-Life 2 Submitted for Certification

Computer And Video Games has a story up based on one of their sometimes accurate anonymous sources saying that Half-Life 2 has been submitted to the Pan European Games Information age rating system and subsequently the British Board of Film Classification for certification, this rumor lending further support to other rumors (story) that the shooter sequel's gold announcement is imminent. According to their "industry insider" Vivendi considers the game done, and that a November release is "extremely likely."

Just to be offtopic for a sec (and join the growing crowd)...about 30,000-40,000 people die on US highways a year. Ten times more than 9/11. But nobody gets all teary about that, do they? Because the media doesn't shove it down people's throats.

Get over it.

Let's just get back to bitching about VU/Valve/Steam/DNF/Bush already, shall we?

Speaking of, today's Penny Arcade seemed especially appropriate for this entire HL2 fiasco.

Who has played their 'official' Half-Life for DreamCast copy lately? Rated - 9/30/2000 - ROFL
I saw (what I now know to be empty) boxes of HL for DC on the shelves of HVM Oxford Street. It was only when I read your post that I released it was never "officially" released.

I used to love my DC.

Wonder what up with HL2 for xbox, we haven't heard much about that lately either.

"I hate Bush as much as the next college student, but claiming the victims of tornadoes in Florida were recieving some kind of just retribution is pretty lame."

This has nothing to do with lame. It has nothing to do with anyone's opinion. It has to do with Karma.

Instead of refuting what I say, go look for yourself. The USA attacked Najaf. About halfway time wise thru the attack, the hurricanes started. The USA kept attacking so another one came. 4 hurricanes. No one seen anything like it in 50 or a hundred years, I forget. You think that is an accident?

As for they guy talking about 9/11. Look. At some point in time, people have to let go of the past. Are u upset because 5000 people die from smoking every year? Do you want to go to war and blow up tobacco companies, farmers and the fertilizer business because they kill 5000 people every year? Every year, not a one time thing like those blamed for 9/11 becuase they got sick of Palestinians getting treated like they are animals for the slaughter.

Another sign that God is dead.

That I get paid as much as I do for the amount of work I've had to do for the past year is proof to me that God is very much alive and well.

10 bucks says Mount St. Helens errupts, sending a huge lava fireball 200 miles away, landing on the Valve corporate offices, taking out all their PCs including their version control server with their only source code archive.

20 bucks says someone blames Bush for it.

So lemme get this straight, you pay a company a boatload of cash. you don't actually get anything in return, and they'll 'let you know' when you can play the game?

Well yes, that's how preordering typically works.

Except Valve changed the typicall and gave people the multiplayer while they wait, so they're very different than, say, the people offering the Nintendo DS for preorder, or Halo 2 for preorder (linked on the Halo 2 site), etc.

I give HL2 a December 10th Release Date.

Yeah, I have been thinking since their last delay that it would make no sense to release the game in late October or November. They might as well wait until the holidays and boost their sales. Another month won't disenfranchise the people who are still interested.

Sorry Terp, but blue's doesnt come installed with an "ommit Half-Life 2 BS" thread.

That's right, there's built-in news filter on your account.

However, there is a built-in filter in your head. All you have to do is scroll down just enough to edge the HL2 story off-screen. Problem solved.

Hey Warhawk, ignore him. Mortis is quite the notorious idiot.

Wazootyman, that must mean you don't hate Bush--since I'm the next college student, and I'm voting for him.

Naw. The Florida hurricanes were Karmic payback for the USA attack on the holy city of Najaf. If you look at the time line you will see the hurricanes started hitting right around when the USA was attacking.

15 billion dollars or more damage and, get this, the people who got the worst of it were the people who supported Bush.
I hate Bush as much as the next college student, but claiming the victims of tornadoes in Florida were recieving some kind of just retribution is pretty lame.
