One of the most infuriating tutorials ever! Half of those special moves seem to be more dependant on luck than skills, and I kept getting killed tried to pull off the proper combos. Not much fun at all.
The new 'dark' style is just so pretentious. Some executive has said "let's make it dark, all gamers like dark! Dark will make this game sell!". No, putting 'Prince of Persia' in the title will make it sell. This franchise is older than Doom, IIRC - why fix something that isn't broken?
The female boss with the twin blades just looked *so* cliched, like ever other scantily clad villainess that we gamers have to endure. Ok, some 14-year-olds might like it - but I find it tacky and cheap. It is completely uneccesary in a fine, well-established series of games.
The cutscenes were a great disappointment. Part of the beauty of PoP, going right back to the original game, was that the action was so *cinematic* in quality that the game hardly needed any cutscenes at all. All of a sudden we're getting cutscenes every 30 seconds. Why? One of the devs is a movie-director wannabe, letting out all of his frustrations on us. This is a devolution in gameplay. You should always avoid taking control away from the player, whenever possible.
I have bought and loved every PoP game... until now. Unless a 2nd demo can change my mind about PoP:WW, the franchise has lost a long-term fan.
