Maybe not the worst but certainly not acceptable. 100% unplayable!

My experience with POP WW:

Mouse problems up the azz, I have no problems with other games like Doom 3 and Call of Duty. I can't change game settings, watch cut scenes, or play the game because the control goes crazy right from the beginning. I have to end task in order to get out of the game. Plus, I've read many other major bugs from people. I hope they release a patched demo because it's no good.

My system specs:

RUNNING ALL CURRENT DRIVERS & SERVICE PACKS!

Microsoft USB Optical Intelli Point
ATI Radeon 9800 XT
Windows XP SP2+
DirectX 9c
Pentium 4 2.2 GHz
1GB RAM

I am very disappointed. Music and gameplay. Very bad! SOT was good! Why change? I agree!! I won't be getting the full game. Sorry!

Shit music, buggy AI (twice I couldn't hit mobs but they could me - once when I nearly had the boss done).

Hopefully they fix this before release day (and get a better soundtrack - I grew out of heavy metal when I was 16)

"...shitty rockmusic which doesn't fit into the game at all..."

No kidding. I thought maybe I had opened up an MP3 in the background that I'd downloaded accidentally. Then I thought maybe they just included the music from a completely different game by accident. Well as it turns out, I'm a monkey's uncle.

I also had the problem where the boss monster warped across the room, where he was subsequently stuck in a corner, unable to be injured.
For me, that was the last straw. Uninstalled, and very disappointed, given how engaging Sands of Time was.

Agreed, this was definitely the last straw, after some bad voice acting, several cut-scenes taking away the controls of the player always at a bad moment, shitty rockmusic which doesn't fit into the game at all and above all messed up controls.

POP:SOT was so perfect, why did they have to change it all?
Dark theme my a$$, SOT was wonderfully colorful and fun to play, this demo was only fun for testing my broadband connection (20 min to download the demo) and to uninstall it at the end.

guys, girls, you don't have to "roll" over the spikes. you can just run straight through any of those spikes in the floor sections... as long as you don't stop, the spikes won't come up till after you've crossed over them. you only have to time your run out to miss the back and forth spikey polls. it's very very simple. do not roll, that is not needed. just run right through there, very easy.

One of the most infuriating tutorials ever! Half of those special moves seem to be more dependant on luck than skills, and I kept getting killed tried to pull off the proper combos. Not much fun at all.

The new 'dark' style is just so pretentious. Some executive has said "let's make it dark, all gamers like dark! Dark will make this game sell!". No, putting 'Prince of Persia' in the title will make it sell. This franchise is older than Doom, IIRC - why fix something that isn't broken?

The female boss with the twin blades just looked *so* cliched, like ever other scantily clad villainess that we gamers have to endure. Ok, some 14-year-olds might like it - but I find it tacky and cheap. It is completely uneccesary in a fine, well-established series of games.

The cutscenes were a great disappointment. Part of the beauty of PoP, going right back to the original game, was that the action was so *cinematic* in quality that the game hardly needed any cutscenes at all. All of a sudden we're getting cutscenes every 30 seconds. Why? One of the devs is a movie-director wannabe, letting out all of his frustrations on us. This is a devolution in gameplay. You should always avoid taking control away from the player, whenever possible.

I have bought and loved every PoP game... until now. Unless a 2nd demo can change my mind about PoP:WW, the franchise has lost a long-term fan.

I don't think they should have released this demo, it leaves a feeling of an unfinished product. It's pretty buggy (monsters get stuck in walls, chase walls, ignore you alltogether. The boss monster on 2 - 3 attempts warped through the wall to the other end of the screen and simply could not be killed.

I'm a bit disappointed with the voice acting, from what little voice there was it did NOT appear to be of the same calibre as the original POP:SOT.

The fighting is better but it also leaves me with worries that the majority of the game is about fighting and less about puzzles which is why POP:SOT was good, there was a decent mix of both.

I'm still hopeful of POP:WW but UBI montreal should have waited to release a more polished demo.

Actually, i just followed the instructions and went throught the whole demo in 15-20 min on the first run. Cant imagine how you guys get stuck in the first level... it aint that hard.

I liked it, some gfx updates, new moves, darker setting, new music. A worthy sequel.

and for everyone who is wondering, there are several levels after the tutorial, so no, its not 500 megs just so you can kill zombies over and over.

Follow the onscreen instructions, and you can finish the tutorial level in like 5 minutes.

why don't they just call it Bloodrayne Gaiden and be done with it?

Half-naked vampire chicks? Matrix moves? Slow-mo deaths?
I don't know what that is, but PoP it ain't.

Now just to make it clear, I have nothing against making Warrior Within darker. The concept art made me smile, same as everyone else. What I do have a problem with is how they went about making it darker.

Oh, oh! Look, he said "bitch", thats so amazingly awesome!
Wow, that game is so much darker and cooler now, cause he said bitch. And, uhmm, he's all scary and brooding!

And whats with the Prince acting like Neo all of a sudden? At least Sands of Time wasn't so over the top. I'm playing through Sands of Time right now (about 95% done), and there is a noticeable increase is stupid action moves that will surely be a big sell with 14 year old Xbox owners.

The game showed so much potential, and I will no doubt pick it up upon release, but the demo doesn't really instill me with confidence about the way they handled the character and setting (and, er, gameplay.)

Ok I'm done with this demo. Such a shitty choice of a level to provide. That tutorial is god awful. They are telling you things to do while your getting your ass kicked trying to perform them right. Uninstalling now. Hopefully they come out with a NON tutorial demo in the future.

I dont really understand how people are having trouble completing the tutorial level. Just keep moving to the left and that triggers events to happen. Now to keep Racing happy, Demo Solution:

At the start follow the instructions given very carefully. Do each move until it tells you to do the next one. You should also be proceeding along the ship. Eventually a massive beam will fall onto the deck knocking a crew mate overboard. Keep fighting. Eventually you get an ingame cinematic of the mast being hit, and a guy falling out of the crows nest. He plummets through the deck taking you with him. Fight you way through the inside of the ship until you get back onto the deck. To your left are some stairs, head up them to fight the boss. Thats the tutorail completed and then you move on to a proper level.}
-------
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience..
