Gold - Men of Valor

VU Games announces the completion of development on the PC edition of Men of Valor, 2015's Vietnam War first-person shooter. The PC version should be in stores on October 26, a week after the Xbox version:
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 11, 2004) – Vivendi Universal Games and 2015 Inc. announced today that the PC version of their upcoming first-person action game Men of Valor has gone gold and will ship to retail stores in the United States on October 26th. The game will be released on the Xbox video game system from Microsoft on October 19th. A Macintosh operating system version will be published by Aspyr Media, Inc.

A multi-player demo and more information about Men of Valor can be found on the official website at http://www.menofvalorgame.com/.

Men of Valor is an historical action experience that portrays infantry combat during the Vietnam War. Combining the latest Unreal technology with the gameplay expertise of 2015 (developers of the award-winning Medal of Honor: Allied Assault), the game immerses the player in the humid jungles of Southeast Asia in the most controversial conflict of the modern era.

Men of Valor follows an African-American Marine through the early stages of the conflict in Vietnam to the Tet Offensive. Touching on the some of the most familiar scenes of the war as they exist in the popular imagination, the player guides his group of fellow soldiers through the hardship and confusion of the battlefield, bonding with them as they do their duty for their country with the heroism and valor typical of the American soldier, but unsung during the turbulent times.

"It's incredibly easy to implement a stamina system that prevents the jump from being over-used/abused."

Agreed. Vietcong has one... and it allows a jump when you need it and can`t be abused. Simple and well done.

I need a single player demo before I can even consider buying this. The MP demo was so-so and not very fun, though.

I agree. Chuck Osborn @ PC Gamer had good things to say about the SP experience, especially praising the visuals. As for MP, I had more fun with the Tribes:Vengeance MP demo.

(where you can't jump, which i think is wrong and jumping should be allowed. i mean you're a highly trained soldier and you can't even get over a stupid log).

Unlike the highly trained soldiers in other games... that bunnyhop, leap, and prance like meadow faeries while unloading their weapons at the enemy.

And sorry, MoV is a let down. Doubt they'll top Vietcong.

That a way there's an excuse why you have to do all the dirty work and your white AI-tarded teammates will be just getting in your way

i haven't played it yet, but i would think you could jump. this game was never meant to be a sim ala Ghost Recon (where you can't jump, which i think is wrong and jumping should be allowed. i mean you're a highly trained soldier and you can't even get over a stupid log). the last FPS game 2015 made, was Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (i think) so i don't think they'll stray too far from that formula

whats up with these games that dont let you jump!!?! it should be mandatory for a FPS to have jumping... speaking of jumping in a FPS i'm lovin' Tribes Vengeance having a jet pack really adds soo much more demension to a shooter, i really hope this game does well.

I just hope they allow 1600x1200. The MP demo was limited to 1280 and below which sucks for gaming on an LCD with a high native resolution.

That's pretty much how I felt about the demo on one of the Xbox magazine cd's. It was single player, and was pretty blah, at least to me. Hopefully they do release a PC single player demo though.
