I really enjoyed System Shock 2, but i still feel like that it, and Deus Ex are both RPGs played from an FPS point of view (as reviews have stated). The gameplay just isn't fast enough as far as combat goes. The fighting is very straightforward, the AI sucks, and there aren't many targets around. The combat is just not the focus.
Not enough for me anyway. So, I'm looking forward to this game of course, but I would much prefer the very first action-oriented FPS/RPG game. We've had SS2, Deus Ex 1 and 2, and now here comes Vampire Bloodlines. None of these games really focus on combat that much. I'd like to see a new approach, not an updated old favorite. (My ideal game would probably be the action carnage of Diablo, combined with the character growth depth of Neverwinter Nights, and the first-person shooter action of something like Unreal 2004.)
Of course, if Bioshock comes with great mod support, then we can do this all on our own
