Releasing in the middle of the day didn't help.
They should have turned it on at 6am or something, that way the west coast would still be sleeping. Everyone in the country is hammering their servers at the same time.

if I buy a silver account today and download all this stuff off Steam... will I be able to play CS:Source today? (assuming the servers are up)

Not to worry. The mad rush will subside over the next 24 hours.

I agree! Not only is it gonna be some smalltime fun revisiting HL with snazzy new visuals, it'll be interesting to see how it holds up to current FPS fare.

Any idea when Valve might release HL-Source? I am torn between the Steam Silver version and the vanilla Retail version. Can't decide

Is it just me, or are all those screenshots from CS: Source, not HL: Source?

Well, it's supposed to be in the CE box that I ordered, so I'm assuming when HL2 ships...

And Blue, I followed your link, but all I see is HL2 - did I miss something?

Thanks!
