Out of the Blue

While TiVo's suggestions can often be related to other things that I have chosen to record, I have also grown used to it picking suggested shows for me that no one in his right mind would watch... my cynical side figures this is just payola that keeps the wheels of the whole system greased. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out why my TiVo has suddenly decided I speak Spanish, because in spite of never recording, nor even watching, programming in a language I do not understand (I took French in school, and I can't even understand that), it suddenly seems quite fond of recording all manner of Latino programming for me.

Oh well, there are all sorts of stories about people learning a new language from TV (Splash, for instance), so maybe I should just watch them all for the educational experience.

I really enjoyed the original Star Trek series and the movies (I-VI) back in the day. Except for Star Trek V, which was sickeningly bad. Shatner directed that one incidentally.

Shatner was the shit as Cap'n Kirk, especially during those fight scenes on the original TV series. But any time I saw Shatner being himself, on a TV interview or whatever, I just couldn't beleive what an idiot he was. He's got the worst sense of humor. He's one strange dude. I don't blame the rest of the cast. I wouldn't want to work with him either.
