The events in Florida only happened a short while ago. The screenshots and information on their site show at least half a year's worth of work.
Well, i wasn't
entirely serious. But, it's very hard to actually tell how much work they have done, surely? The only screenshots are close up shots, without anything to really indicate how much is programmed or even made. More importantly, they're actively looking for a publisher, which to me almost often means very early development (i.e. need to secure financing, especially as they don't seem to have released any games yet).
EDIT; oh, the game concept doc is dated August 2004. Assuming it's not a recently dated version for the plebs, that indicates to me it is 'inspired' by recent events.
Anyways, I should probably emphasise i don't want to be too harsh on the guys here. It
is an original idea, good on them if they can work it, but it just strikes me as also being potentially disasterous (hehe) and somewhat of cashing in on recent tragedies - specifically the 2004 store fire in Paraguay, which i think is just too recent and thus a bit tasteless.....
what my main worry would be that they cash in on any attention they get for having the likes of 9/11, hiroshima, etc.
