On WoW Release Dates

World of Warcraft coming in November? on IGN offers a revelation from deep within a VUG earnings report of some release dates they've listed for World of Warcraft, Blizzard's upcoming MMORPG. The report lists a November U.S. release date, a December date for Korea, Early 2005 in Europe, and later that year for China and Taiwan. They also point out that it is Blizzard, not Vivendi, that has the final say in the game's release, so these dates might not be accurate, though the staggered release over various territories is probably an indicator of how the game will actually be rolled out around the world.

Before the stress test, I really had no interest in WoW whatsoever. But I signed up for the heck of it, and as it turns out, it's by far the funnest [sic] MMORPG I've ever played.

I hardly had a passing interest in WoW, and didn't give it a second glance. I too signed up for the stress test just to check it out, but came away mightily impressed. OF COURSE its not perfect no game is, but the game completely blew me away on what my preconceived ideas were. Hands down the most fun I've ever had in a MMOG. I'll be buying.

I am seeing statements like these a lot. And it speaks volumes for the game if you ask me.. considering I fall into the same category. I had pretty much figured it would be the same old thing and was dreading the thought of buying it simply to play with my friend on-line. That was before we signed up for the stress-test. Now I am very eagerly awaiting the release and may even get the collectors edition, if they would only make it clearer what the in-game items are that you get in the collectors package.
