On WoW Release Dates

World of Warcraft coming in November? on IGN offers a revelation from deep within a VUG earnings report of some release dates they've listed for World of Warcraft, Blizzard's upcoming MMORPG. The report lists a November U.S. release date, a December date for Korea, Early 2005 in Europe, and later that year for China and Taiwan. They also point out that it is Blizzard, not Vivendi, that has the final say in the game's release, so these dates might not be accurate, though the staggered release over various territories is probably an indicator of how the game will actually be rolled out around the world.

No release date for Oceanic Region? Whats that? Oceanic Region? WTF is that ....

Glad to know that the gamers in Oz and NZ are accounted for, especially with the news that we'd have to connect to asian servers that most of the gamers that would play there wouldn't understand english. Either that, or the west coast of the US.

Side order of Lag anyone?

amn, that's fucking harsh dude. There's a fine line between being a troll and saying a horrible, horrible thing. You crossed that line. Rot in hell.

He was just staying "true to form" by producing an even more idiotic response than the previous one. Was it really subtle enough for you to not see that?

Btw, joke all you want about our troops because they sure as hell joke more about the situation in Iraq than we do. My best friend (who used to be a regular poster on this website) is there now, just starting sending me videos of his offtime and while on duty, some crazy shit.

They're not as "oblivious" as you think as most all forces in Iraq have full access to the Internet and other media pertaining to the war and many wonder wtf they're doing there.

The people in other branches of the U.S. military don't call Marines "Self-propelled sandbags" just because it sounds funny.

Well, yeah we did actually but it doesn't make it any less true, the typical Marine ground troop isn't generally a whole lot smarter than a sand bag is.

And all the people who join the air force only join because it's the easiest. And all the people who join the navy are homosexual.

It seems this thread has come full-circle with the stereotypes. Well done!

That said, for all the actual elitist cultured Europeans that a person may come in contact with, there's many more of the vast unwashed masses just as there are in the U.S. Numerically, the odds are, you're the latter category in either the U.S. or Europe.

Blizzard is one of the best companies out there. Fuck, they still release free WC3 Maps 2 years after release. Tell me another company that provides as much support as Blizzard does after releasing a game???

Gamers sure are whiny these days.

WoW is garbage. I hope that the EQ 'uberguild' losers (in all their fat, greasy, basement dwelling glory) enjoy it, because I'm not going to play it. Guild Wars, on the other hand is something I'm looking forward to playing.

dont bother explaining the irony. he won't get it because people in europe are stupid

Actually, according to a 2001 human development report, America has an adult literacy rate lower than the likes of Norway, Iceland and Sweden. So that might explain the lack of punctuation in your post.

You probably won't see him, though who really cares? I hardly care about the allies I pass by, much less someone I slay. Although yes, you will see him come back to ressurrect his body, and you know what that means? SLAY HIM AGAIN! Hows that?!

With MMORPGs, this is probably more true than any single-player RPG. Except instead of pissing off an NPC, you're pissing off a PC.
Odds that you'll ever see him again and that it will actually mean anything (assuming you have a life and don't spend most of your free time playing the game) : 3.7% (Yes, I just made it up, but you get the idea).

By the way, WoW sucks. Bad. It's ugly, it lacks any kind of innovation and both combat and quests are boring.

Good for you, do you want a cookie?

Bottom line is WoW is FUN. Period. Which is why most of us will be playing it.
