DOOM 3 Patch Server Bug? [Sep 30, 2004, 12:27 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
A post on PlanetDOOM (thanks
runnerCT) has word on a possible problem with the recent DOOM 3 version 1.1
patch (story) that might prevent the installation of the latest
version of the dedicated server for the game. They suggest that administrators
having trouble getting their DOOM 3 servers to appear on the master list verify
that they have the new Doom3ded.exe dated 9/16 rather than the older version
dated 9/02.

Wow, a DOOM 3 thread that almost no one is talking about. Funny after all the hype this game received pre-release, now its 2 months old and its almost like it never existed.

I'll probably have to buy a game named Doom3, patch it 3 times, install the duct tape mod, install the Doom2 remake mod. Then I can play Doom3, because this dark-ass bullshit, zero AI, complete ending letdown, is a pile of stink from the butt of Gabe Newell.

can't reinstall te patch at all.
tried deleting all the files i can see it added, game00.pk4, new doom3.exe, version.inf etc, removing the relevant registry entries i could find.
it just says patch already installed, cannot reinstall.
unlike any of the nice q3 patches.
both my doom3.exe and the ded.exe are the wrong date so i'd wanted to remove them and reinstall.
now i'm thinking if anything happened to doom3.exe, you have to reinstall the whole game just to replace that?

Any word yet on the Linux dedicated server binary? I've been waiting to put up a server for it, but it seems to be taking quite a while. I thought they said it was supposed to come out simultaneously with the Win32 patch.
