Mac UT2004 Demo

The Mac edition of the new version 3334 Unreal Tournament 2004 Demo is now available, offering the same new maps and features as the Windows and Linux releases that preceded it. The 268 MB download is available on 3D Gamers and FileFront. On a semi-related note, icculus.org (thanks Frans) has an update outlining the "sort of complicated" procedure for getting the various Mac and Linux demos and various bonus packs all working properly.

It performs noticeably worse than the previous (and this on a dual 2GHz G5 with 2Gb RAM!!). There are no loading screens (just the map name and the tip text) when trying Onslaught and the grass foliage seems to be missing a texture (just looks like a green mesh).

Honestly, why is there so much negativity when a Mac gets a game. Do you feel your special by saying you already got it 12 months earlier or something? Is it for attention, or to try and say macs suck because of this?

If someone has a mac, they're life probably doesn't revolve around games, so to them, it's no big deal. And if a mac user is a big gamer, they wouldn't have a mac to begin with. All negative comments about mac gaming is pointless, no one cares, I'm sure any mac user would say, "so what, get a life"

[flame]Or the moment would be killed by seing your friends play it 12 months earlier on pc, or you would be too hung up about scrolling your app-bar, or you would be too hung up in blogs and w3c-standards, or you would be to lame to even play, or...
Bleh, mac-guys suck. they are really loud, so you recognize the ones with skills, but the rest of them are just mac-zombies.[/flame]

This would be a sweet moment, if I had a Mac. But if I did have a mac, I'd be too busy with graphics work to have time to play games. But at least they'd be there for a quick break.
