It wasnt canceled by Mithis.. It was that crap company cdv. This wasnt to be a 4X game. cdv got the IP and thought they could sell more games using the IG IP. It was always suppose to be a tactical game. And besides, be glad it is with HDI and not cdv. cdv sticked starforce on every frelling thing.

yes, it does have a bit of a learning curve but once you start to get the hang of it Just remeber the spacebar is your friend

If you check this link it has some helpful hints. Be warned however that starting about page 5 it turns into a walkthrough...

It's nothing like the previous Imperium Galactica games. Infact if you read the latest Q&A, implementing exploration and implementing the IG3 IP, didn't make it work (or they didn't make it work very well). When the project was ordered to be IG3 by CDV, the developers told them it wouldn't work outright. Don't believe me, read the interview: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=56656

Once you figure out the Function keys (you can check them on the bottom), it becomes pretty easy. It's not nearly as userfriendly as the demo 2 years ago was(which it wasn't), but it's still pretty rad. The manual controls will really freak out newer players, so I wouldn't recommend any manual control

Seemed kinda cool... but... HELLO, I got enveloped faster than I did trying to play Derek Smart's last piece of junk.

I thought the singleplayer demo was supposed to come out only in game mag cd's and the internet demo would be multiplayer, guess they musta found some bugs in the multi and decided to release the singleplayer instead.

The game does look awesome and once you get past the learning curve its pretty damn fun, someone over on the nexus forums has already started on a star trek mod for it and I have to admit the screenshots he has posted look very good. I am definitely buying this one when it comes out, hell I've been waiting for over 2 years now since it got canned by mithis.

There are certain things you cannot discuss as an adult without swearing that is why it is called mature.

For instance George Fucking Bush. Try talking about him for five minutes without swearing it's impossible!

This one needs a tutorial, I shouldn't have to PRINT the fucking readme file in order to play a demo...

But it is really pretty

Why do they call this type of language mature? When only the immature use it.

Oh my god, fucking awesome! I LOVED the demo of this when it was released a couple years back and the cancelation of the project almost crushed my soul. I am fucking eternally greatful to Mithis and HD for picking this up. Awesome.

Man, I sure didn't recognize the title at all.

The original demo seemed to have a lot of micromanagement for each ship which I didn't care for.. Is it basically the same still? I'm hoping they changed it a bit for the better.

This space is available for rent

I havent really figured out how to play this game (looks to me more like a RTS than a space combat game) but the graphics and sound are very nice. I love the starfield. dark space once again, and not some overdone colorful... picture.
