Killing people is fine, but killing innocent animals for pleasure is just sick.

If that's the way you look at it, then I'll give up now...I guess you'll just never understand the stroke of genius which is Deer Hunter 2005.

That's not intense at all. So you miss the deer, so what? At least you don't die.

Do people make add-on packs for DH? If so, I'm wondering if we'll see the "assault weapons deer poacher" pack

I fixed it so you didn't have to switch between the flashlight and your weapon to see what you're shooting at.

Most of the time I would agree with you Professional, but every once in a while I want a slow paced and highly relaxed game like this. Though, on the other hand if you've been tracking a deer through the woods for twenty minutes with a bolt action rifle, and you finally come out to a clearing and have your one clear shot, and you need to make it count, it can be pretty intense. Or you can just hop on a quad and sling a shotgun around your back and go hunting squirrels, skunks, raccoons, and just have a good 'ol redneck time.

If I want to play a hunting game it better be Carnivores. No risk hunting (aka deer hunting) is a bore on a whole new level.
Nailing a charging T-rex in the eye is damn fun.

I thought the demo was pretty fun too. It runs a bit choppy on my system maxed out, so I bet Bubba Joe Billy Bob's 486 computa ain't gonna run this thang.

Only rednecks with 7 year old PCs give a shit about these games. Blows my mind people acctualy pay $20 for this useless shit.

Considering that the original sold 700,000 copies, I'd say a lot of people. Hate to say it, but the fact remains that the casual gamer drives the market... not the elitist hardcore gamer. Hell, Trophy Bass gave Dynamix enough dough to fund development of Tribes. It's a necessary evil. That and the cookie-cutter FPS genre.

So, how many of you have actually played the demo? I thought it was real fun, I love the slow paced realism of it all, the assortment of weapons and gadgets are sweet and feel authentic and polished (after all the versions of this game they've gone through, I'm sure they are), the complete freedom in the realistically plotted maps is awesome, and last but not least the graphics are pretty damn good. I can understand if you played it and it wasn't your taste, but I really get the feeling that none of you know what you're talking about. I'm very likely going to pick this up this weekend.
