Global Star/Take Two announces that Kohan II: Kings of War, TimeGate Studios' real-time strategy sequel, has shipped to stores ion North America:
New York – September 22, 2004 – Global Star Software, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), and TimeGate Studios are pleased to announce that Kohan II: Kings of War has shipped to retailers across North America.

“Kohan II raises the bar for real time strategy,” said Christoph Hartmann, Senior Vice President of Publishing at Global Star Software. “We are thrilled to unleash its gorgeous 3D engine, deep, immersive storyline and limitless multiplayer possibilities on the world.”

“The original Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns was TimeGate’s first game, so the series is very personal for us,” said Adel Chaveleh, President of TimeGate Studios. “We are confident that this sequel will appeal to long-time fans of the series as well as RTS fans looking for something a little different.”

Kohan II: Kings of War builds upon the proven gameplay of the original, critically acclaimed Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns with an all-new 3D engine, six playable races, a dynamic storyline with 25 character-driven single-player missions, extra multiplayer maps and a random map generator for an unlimited number of possible scenarios. Kohan II: Kings of War delivers countless hours of exciting gameplay to both hardcore RTS fans and casual gamers alike.

Probably not. The demo will be released any day now to everyone else (instead of being a FilePlanet exclusive). So we probably have at least one more post about it.

I would still like to post a bitch-post on lame-ass gay-planet exclusive demos and how this whole deal stinks.

Thank you.

Yeah, so was I. I just had to wait in line for about an hour till the dl started. The demo was ok, but not something I'm interested in.

This space is available for rent

Uhh, one could download the demo on monday from fileplanet and not be a "subscriber" but just a free member. You still had to wait an hour to start the dl tho.

Not a bad demo but I'll prolly wait for a bargain bin sale in a year or so.

The game's pretty crappy in comparison to the two other other RTS's: Dawn of War & Rome Total War. There's Battle for middle Earth just looming on the horizon, so it's a good idea to pick those instead of Kohan II. The game itself is fine and all, but it doesn't really compare to those other titles and the single player campaign, although supposedly 25 missions long - will last for less than 8 hours.

Pretty crappy? What a lamer.

Little hint: Kohan II knocks every RTS out of the water where it counts.

It's not a twitch-fest. It's strategy. It's actually intelligent, unlike the pretty brainless moronic run-of-the-mill dime-a-dozen gameplay of the others.

There's a reason Kohan was the Strategy (or RTS) Game of the Year for tons and tons of pubs.
