Anyway, I thought d3 was an ok game and I think that hl2 and T:V are gonna be good too. (omfg did I just say positive things about 3 games at once?! I must be out of my mind...)
Never understood why some people must hate game X cause they like game Y(which they havent played yet)

So could this demo be of any interest to someone who has already played and finished the full game?

I was hoping they'd put different missions in the demo.

Of course, playing this demo will remind you of some of the great, exciting moments of Doom3.

So, who would have bought the full game based on the demo, if the demo came out first?

A warning to all: If you've played the demo, then you've played the game. Dark corridors, monsters leaping from shadows and spawning behind you, punishment for finding extra ammo... that's pretty much all there is to it. It's kind of fun, but almost as repeditive as Halo.

From the site:

Terminal Velocity comes on CD-ROM only (the floppy disk version has been discontinued and is no longer available.) This version has everything: 70 Megs of 3D rendered cinematics, SVGA (640 by 480) support, high resolution replacement textures (add 16 times the graphics detail!), the BONUS planet!, eight network player support, and bonus games.

I remember when Wing Commander 3 came out and supported 640x480. My first impression was "holy crap look at the high resolution graphics!" because it was the first game I had that wasn't 320x200 vga(which always struck me as screwed up because it wasn't a proportional resolution). I don't think it even supported hardware 3d at that time, all software.

God, how I miss Terminal Velocity. Such a great game. Take the Jet Fighter series and cross it with Descent. Add cooler enemies and settings.

Okay... can someone tell me if this demo has that level where you enable the sentry and go forth and kicketh the crap out of everything?

I'd download it for that, rather than play through again to find where it was.... actually, I have the autosaves from each level still, so does anyone remember what that level was actually called?

Still think it was an awesome game... but like with everything, I've seen it now and want something else.... I never use that line with the better half or kids, of course:P

they funy thing in doom3 is that sometimes you wont take that hard to find hidden armour cuz by doing that 999999 monsters will spawn and you are @ low health. wait...it's not really funny 8(

only thing that kept me playing thru doom3 was that I was looking at the gfx+level design... otherwise killing 999999 monsters in every room is rather tiring

Doom 3 blows. If they would have released a demo before the ship date it's sales would have been much lower.

Just replayed the Doom 3 Alpha and I must say it still holds up even to the released product(soundwise, it's more atmospheric). Oh how I wish they could've employed some of the great ideas/concepts that were shown in the Alpha, if they could've figued out how to execute them dynamically and not through scripting. One of the rare games where the Alpha/beta shows more promise than the final.

I doubt that. Most of the gaming public isn't half as jaded, involved, or picky as most of us here are. We're the minority
