oh man, i have been to (way too often) the kiddie fest that is Tribalwar.. holy god. That place is full of a bunch of immature kids and flamers.
Like it or not, Tribalwar is where all the vets go. As long as you don't post old news or unfounded/retarded claims, you don't have to worry about being flamed. Example of unfounded/retarded claim: "omg this is a ut2k4 mod!!1! what hapend to all teh deep stuf like sensor jamers and cloak paks!!?" As for the "vet" servers, I wouldn't exactly call them vet at this stage. Currently, most of the vet servers are filled with nubs (an unfortunate result of having a free open beta). Yeah, you'll see a few good players, but until the retail release filters out the nub population, no server can offer the ideal playing experience. Teamwork is practically nonexistent in the current pubs, as nubs go around trying to blow people with the Bomber or run people over the Rover. In addition, most games are horribly lopsided, with one team getting 20+ caps while the other gets 1.
If someone really doesn't like T:V, that's fine. Just don't buy it. However, until they play the final game, any complaints they may have will be treated with a grain of salt.
now its too easy. i can heavy into winterlake.. fire a few mortars and i'm done. front door to gen.. 20 feet.
the gen on cavern is right in the open.. u can mortar it from the ground far back as a heavy. where is the teamwork in that?
Refer to the response above. Currently, you are unlikely to find anyone actually defending the base/gens. Even with that said, your argument actually works against you: defending the base/gens takes a lot of teamwork. If you have a few players just repairing stuff, that leaves them wide open to attack. They will die and the gens will be blown up. Now, if you have players defending the entrances and repelling HO while other players repair, that's much more effective and proves that teamwork is indeed a factor. Seriously though, you can't base your arguments about teamwork on the current state of the game. 60-70% of the current players are new. You have very few players who actually stick to dedicated roles and know what they are doing. As a result, teamwork becomes an afterthought.
The ideal time to buy the game will probably be a month or so after its release. By that time, most of the players will know what they are doing and you will be able to have good games on pubs.
