I sold COD long ago, after all the Multiplayer portion of the game sucked @ss, and now they come out with an expansion that requires the original. If they can make a demo that doesnt require COD, why can't they make this sequel not require it also? I won't buy it for the simple fact, I no longer have COD and won't be buying both to play what has been said being a short single player experience. The demo was amusing, but the AI at times didnt cover fire that well and I ended up getting killed by someone behind me when I thought my back was being covered.

The demo for Full Spectrum Warrior is hitting the net tomorrow, so if you have Fileplanet look for it. I just hope it doesn't suck.. because the screens for the PC version don't look half as good as the consoles did. I already prepaid and preordered so I am glad to get the demo to evaluate it before it's release on the 20th.

As far as COD went I spent all of an hour playing it and was so turned off by the lag and bunny-hopping I never looked back. I may check this demo out but with all the other great releases... probably not.

Man, they would have to release this just after I packed up my computer in preparation for moving.

And since when do expansions not require the original game? That's pretty much the status quo for computer games.

I don't have a top-of-the-line performance beast by any means, but this thing ran straight-up ASS at decent settings. And this ia at 1024X768, no AA. I can run Doom3 at High Quality, same resolution, runs pretty much butter 99% of the time.

The original (which I kinda liked, more than MoH anyways) ran better than this, and I was still running a GF4 TI4400. Granted, my video card is basically waiting for a better system to be put into, but still, I can't believe the 10 fps and worse I get towards the end. Once the Germans broach the line, it got downright slideshow. Very odd.

Had it run smoothly, it'd be an ok demo, though pretty much anything looks bad after coming off of Doom 3, and knowing HL2 is close. At least this time you get a real mounted gun on a jeep, and you're not shooting with an inaccurate MG40 at high speed.

Shan't be buying, mostly since I'd have to go and re-install CoD. If it wants to do a check for the original disc to install, fine, but I'm not gonna have the extra gig sitting on my hard drive, knowing the expansion is probably stand-alone guts-wise anyway.

Um...There are expansion packs out there that don't require the original game? I must have missed them.

There are several stand alone expansions for games.

The expansion for Return to Castle Wolfenstein, 'Behind enemy Lines' or something like that.
Blitzkrieg: Burning Horizon is another.
Stronghold: Crusader.
Warlords 3: Darklords Rising (Even though they call it a 'sequel' it's not really).

There are more I cant' really think of right now.

Uh.. RTCW never had an expansion called Behind Enemy Lines.

The only expansion it has is the free stand-alone game called Enemy Territory. They didn't think development was going as well as they planned, so they canned it and released it to the public for free.

If it's released to the public for free, it obviously won't require the original.

Games that have had stand-alone expansions:

- Kohan
- Interstate '76
- Commandos
- Homeworld
- Stronghold (I think)

Try FileFront. Everytime I've gone there recently, their free servers have been open (no waiting lines) and the speeds are good too.

Well, Homeworld's expansion was made by a different developer.. and I think they changed some things with the engine too.

Technically not 'stand-alone' expansions, but they came with the full game in each case.

Played this. Seems just like the original, I didn't notice anything really new although I haven't played COD is a bit.

For me, I don't like the random deaths. Tried hardened first, died repeatedly. Went to the lesser difficulty, made it a bit farther, but there's still random shells that can kill you instantly. You'll be doing everything your're supposed to be doing and still die over and over. I was killing krauts with nice sweeping 50 cal work, killing 20x more than any ai, then suddenly BOOM, dead from mortar.

That's another thing, I didn't notice even one single dead kraut from any of the ai. I guess they did kill one or two, but usually it's 20 krauts and I apparently have to kill at least 18 of them solo - even when the ai are only 20 ft away from the enemy, they miss over and over. Kinda stupid.

Won't be buying this. Seems like same COD, just another day.

I finished this game in 6 hours!.. 6! So if you want to save your money, just replay COD.

I did, I usually go to Filefront 1st because I usually get 500-600kb/s there. Turns out there was a hydro explosion that damaged some Shaw equipment around my area and was slowly affecting everyone's connection here, was just lucky when I tested my other haunts at the time I guess, bizarre ..
