For those who may have missed the follow-up appended to the original
story last night,
Shacknews has a
clarification from 3D Realms' George Broussard that Duke Nukem Forever is using
an in-house engine developed at 3D Realms, not the DOOM 3 engine. This is in
response to yesterday's
Take Two quarterly
earnings conference call, which stated the game was "using the DOOM 3
technology..." When I asked George how such an obvious error could be made, he
replied: "No idea really. The rendering is Doom 3 like so maybe that confused
them."
