I thought jedi knight II was an excellent game, a "GOTY" or at least close to it. SoF was meant to be pretty good, and plus they have been close to id since hexen or earlier, so they must have a good working relationship with id. In short, i cant think of anyone better.
My main concern is just how much they can improve the networking from doom3. My guess/hope is id worked primarily on the basic engine (rendering, physics etc) with the doom3 game, and kind of tacked on a mp for it - with the idea that the real work on MP for the engine would be done in Quake4.
I mean this in the context of the "doom3" engine product, which will presumably be used for many other games in the coming years, like Q3 was. I rally cant see how they can squeeze a relatively large team based game like the RTCW sequel into the doom3 engine otherwise, even then the bandwidth would be rather expensive for server providers.
