Bet EA will be bummed to find out it's not in the Q3 engine...since they are still paying licensing fees.

I remember hearing that when Pacific Assault was first launched, they were indeed using the Q3 engine at the core but it was altered so radically that it was almost unrecognizable.

It's not only unrecognizable there is even nothing left of the Quake III engine. It's now pure D3D.

No kidding. Where's the blood, man? Even with a Teen Rating there should be some blood.

This game is friggin' great! It has the same immersion as CoD but soo much more. I was very impressed with the engine but the only thing it really needs is blood. It was hard to tell if I was actually hitting someone or not, I hope there is a blood mod the first day it comes out. Of course all the cynical people here will pick it apart but as for me it's a welcome addition to a very good WWII genre.

and no options menu to change my controls. weak.

Top left corner of your keyboard. Try it.

That might not be simplified enough.

Hit "Esc" and go to the damn options menu to change controls...

Well, that was a nice slideshow. I guess I slected detail level to high, but when you option are as precise as "post-processing effet" (what the hell is that supposed to mean?)...

Oh, while enjoying my abysmal framerate, I found out that standing in the open for 30 seconds doesn't get you shot (in the "they didn't even try to shoot me" kinda way). By the way, rushing them and hitting with your weapon is more effective then shooting them. Let's try this again with low/low details...

Lol, Scottish Martial Arts,"quake 3 engine"...he he

Admittedly I haven't been following the development of the title. I assumed it was Quake III because A) it looks like the QIII engine and B) it uses .pk3 files.

Still doesn't change how entirely average this game is.

MoH: PA is not using the Quake III engine. It's in-house coded DX9.0c engine supporting SM3.0

Oh? Well, for an in-house engine, it's still using the classic Quake 3 engine pak files.

That's what I'd like to know? What's with the sluggish cursor? Frame rate not bad at all but my cursor ie when you try to click on start to begin the game is like on Valium, you move your mouse and then the cursor moves a second behind.

Agree totally. The same totally brain dead AI that was in MoH and CoD is what ruins this. Only notable for the enhancements to the now 5 years old quake III engine.

MoH: PA is not using the Quake III engine. It's in-house coded DX9.0c engine supporting SM3.0 (although SM3.0 is not enabled in the demo).

Unimpressed. My thoughts are what has been mentioned previously: same shit, different bag. I'll pass.

And what's with the sluggish cursor? Decent framerates and I don't see any sluggishness in the action and animations.

I really enjoyed the demo. Sure things are a little hectic throughout, but hey - war's a bitch.

Fantastic graphics, very immersive, wonderful physics engine and you can really tell the difference with the new dynamic procedural AI. Worlds better then CoD's heavily scripted AI. Hell, it's not even in the same league.

I wasn't sure if I was going to pick this title up, but after experiencing this demo - this is must purchase! I only hope the MP maps will be large, unlike CoD's miniature, shoebox sized maps. Having the soldiers actually look like soldiers, and not hunched over midgets that waddle about like ducks a la CoD, truly adds to the overall immersion.

Very nice indeed. Now I anxiously await RTW and PA.

geez man doom3 ran better than what this game did. Just as i expected it was just a bunch of spraying. You'd think the devs will try to bring soemthing unique to a new ww2 game, but they just end up giving us the same boring crap. Anyone actaully buying this game?

Can't say I'll be buying this one. It was pretty much what I expected it to be - a standard by-the-numbers Medal Of Honor game with a glossier coat and spit polish. The team command system was redundant since I never found myself needing to use it. The rest of it....well....standard linear, script-laden arcade blastathon. Roll on Brothers In Arms...
