A version 1.04 Patch/"Coast to Coast" expansion for Railroad Tycoon 3 is now
freely available "as a thank you for the public support of the Railroad Tycoon
franchise over the years." The expansion adds new maps (including the namesake
Coast to Coast scenario), new locomotives, new skinning tools, as well as all
the features and tweaks in the new version 1.04 update. The Coast to Coast
add-on is a 119 MB download, available on
FilePlanet
(registration required), and mirrored on
3D Gamers and
Boomtown (registration required).

Just started playing RT3 again a few days ago, forgot how much fun it is. It's a shame they didn't fix Hardware T&L not working on most ATI cards...

Yeah it's goodness. Anyone who played the it when it came out, btw, and got disgusted with the atrocious AI, that has been pretty well patched.
The game is still too easy though. Autoset your consists, wait until you have a few million bucks, start buying industry, voila, soon you have threehundredgazillion dollars.
Challenge in this game = zero, but it's still nice to watch your chu-chu's go by.
