has more news from their forums as Gabe Newell made a post yesterday indicating
that today is the day Half-Life 2 assets will begin pre-loading for some
customers over Steam:
HL/2 pre-load will begin tomorrow. It was ready yesterday, but we decided to use the bandwidth to get out the VST first since I get pelted with zillions of questions from people asking how their PC will run Half-Life 2.
First of all, Eldaron, are you using the same e-mail address for Steam this time as you were last time? If so, you SHOULD be able to download all of the normal HL games just like before.
However, if that isn't what's wrong, don't fret, they come with your ATI coupon anyway. To imput the ATI coupon (And get access to all teh normal HL games, Counter-Strike: Source beta, and the Half-Life 2 preload), just load up steam, wait for it to update fully, go to browse games, and then hit "Register products I already own" button on the bottom left hand corner. Type in the ATI key there and you should be good to go.
