It's been several formats since I set it down, so I'll just be restarting the game.

"To be honest, I think it is. I barely got started on it when I got sidetracked and have yet to get back to playing (and, being such a continuity bastard, have yet to start on Uru, which is still on my shelf.)"

I'm in the exact same boat myself.
I loved what I played but I set it down for a week or two and now I don't know if I'll ever get back into it (it's been a couple months now).
It's just one of those type of games.

Um, I think I'll just keep waiting for Dreamfall.

Myst III: Exile is DEFINITELY worth it..... it may not have been made by the original guys, but it was made by Presto Studios (whose other notable work was the excellent Journeyman Project series).... I think they did a fantastic job with Myst III, and it's a shame Presto went out of business (or closed down, or whatever happened to them). They had a real talent for these kinds of games.

It all depends. I really hated Riven due to its obtuse puzzles (graphics were nice.) Alternately, I thought that Myst III was the best in the series at the time - the 3D panoramic view really opened up the series and the puzzles made more sense (well, relatively.)

I still think Uru is an amazing Myst experience and I am saddened to see Myst IV revert back to the older style, but I would suggest Myst III for any fan of the series. Prior to Uru it was the high point for the series.

Eager to try out the new one,
Ray

Explain to me why everyone was falling all over themselves for Doom3, but barely paying any attention to this demo?
Simple: most hardcore gamers don't like Myst. Adding to that the annoucement of the demo was just, oh, today, and it's perfectly understandable why there hasn't been such an uproar for this.

To be honest, I think it is. I barely got started on it when I got sidetracked and have yet to get back to playing (and, being such a continuity bastard, have yet to start on Uru, which is still on my shelf.)

The people who made it also made the Journey Man Project series, so that's a good sign.

I was playing Syberia the other day, and started having an urge to play Riven again. I never played the third one, and have a hard time bringing myself to play it since the original bros didn't make it. Is the third one worth it?

I'm sprawled across the davenport of despair.
