The first game in the series, Doom, was partly blamed for the Columbine High School massacre in the United States, it having been a favourite computer game of the teenage killers Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris.

Wasn't Doom a little before their time? Hell I played Doom, Doom2, Quake, shit I can't count the number of violent video games I've played in my life and I started with Wolf3D. You don't see me going on killing sprees. Those kids were alread fucked up in the head, video games didn't do it.

FFS is the kids had pipe bombs and automatic weapons in their basement, and the fucking parents didn't know. Fucking parents are to blame, spend a little more time with your kids.

Edited to say: I even played Doom in highschool computer class. We used to have deathmatches after we'd finished our assignments.
