No Win98 DOOM 3
 [Jul 27, 2004, 8:23 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments

In today's (unusually late) DOOM 3 newsbit, a post on PlanetDOOM confirms from Activision that DOOM 3 will not run under Windows 98 or Win98SE, but that Windows XP or Windows 2000 will be required.

Now, can someone explain to me why I should get XP, others than "its there".

Because you're a gamer and modern games no longer run on win98. I upgraded a year and a half ago and don't really have any regrets. I'd like to be able to play a few older DOS games but it's not the end of the world. Stability is the big advantage, the only crashes I ever get are heat related where as in WIN98 I recall having a crash pretty much daily.
