C'mon Dave, give me a break.

Now, Robot I was really, really scared about, having read all of Asimov's fiction, and being a huge fan, and then seeing Will Smith, good god...the horror. But they did one thing, staying true to thematic development through (yes, I counted this out) 17 books Asimov wrote with 3-laws robots as major characters. Except they do in one movie what took 17 books and 30,000 - 50,000 years in the novels...

I am also a huge fan of Asimov and I have no intention of ever watching this movie.

Ever.

This is truly a shame as I've always felt that the Foundation series in particular would make either a good setting for an RPG or movie.

Good movie - but man, was that shaky-cam way, wayyyyy overdone! To the point that it got annoying.

Probably one of hte best car-chase scene ever filmed, but we'll never know cuz of all the close-ups and shaky cam...Same with the fight with the other assassin. There was no way to see the moves. Just pissed me off when they mess up a scene by the editing/camera work.

I love Brian Cox. He was amazing as Goring in Nuremberg. There's a man who should have had a far better career than he did.

Don't quote me on this, but I think it is more of a "medium budget" movie. This is Anderson, the director of Resident Evil, that we are talking about.

I really liked both Bourne and I, Robot (saw them in a "DIY" double-feature).

Bourne was much better directed in its action scenes than most thrillers today, and I really liked the little touches that clued you in how he could be such a "macguvyer" kind of thinker.

AvP, man, I just re-read the Dark Horse comics version (the first one, no subtitle) and I have to say, I'm again afraid that the movie could be disastrous. Doesn't it seem like they have only 1 set for this one? That always bodes poorly for "big-budget" films...

Yeah, the scene towards the beginning, when he's running through the 1000 robots looked like a total cut and paste job (it was quite obvious Smith was pasted into the CGI background).

Contrast that to Minority Report, which did a great job of showing a near future, but not overly unrealistic.

Can anyone recomend a calender program that would work with XP?
M$ has the crappiest calender, doesnt give dates seasons change, moon cycles (for us Vampires and Werewolves) or basic holidays.

I guess it would be cool if I could add notes, it would not have to be a daily planner, thou that would be ok.
I wouldnt want something so complicated it would take a 600 page manual.

Yeah, I havent really been able to stomach Smith since, WWW.
IRobot, No spoilers really, just general stuff.

I really didnt like it, CG was not happening for me and that scene where Smith waiting for data while in his car, in the tunnel, I was just completly :-rollseyes-: the whole scene.

Had a good story/plot twist but everything just seemed so fake.

Also look at the way Smith walks the first 10 minutes of a movie, gangsta style, wth is with that.
He spose to be a cop, trained in defense and assault.
Its completly contrary to being centered in your movements, ie like martial arts, you DONT going up on the balls of your feet while walking, head lock looking and shoulder movment side to side.

Watch Bourne while he is walking shoulders never really go up and down almost a constant level, cause he is centered.
Thank god Smith drops that crap, well mostly.

Are you talking Millennium? I'm in Canada, it was released in N.America on Tuesday the 20th.

I was reading, and Millennium seasons 2 and 3 have already been announced for UK by the end of the year! With any luck, that means us Region 1 schlubs will get them in that timeframe as well (since season one in UK came out a week earlier), although so far there has been no announcement.

Once again, close everything, ran NaV, ran AdAware, and then ran Spybot and Bazooka.

The only things that popped up on AdAware were the usual cookies that I collect (I keep ZA and IE cookiee security set to medium) and Spybot complained about two KoL websites I had.

Reboot...open up IE, which defaults to Blue's News, and I get the usual pop-up about "You computer may be infected with spyware, click here to...blah blah blah."

It is not on my end.

Edit: Looking around, it was only Blue's News that acts in this way. IGN, Yahoo, KoL, EB Games, Inq, and Toms have no problems.

Well, I saw I, Robot with a friend because they wanted to see it, but I was expecting the worst possible outcome - another Wild Wild West. Compared to that, this movie was better, but I do think Smith was miscast, the robot could have looked better (even more human or even more cutting edge) and I wish the story took a much more dramatic approach. I am giving Moynahan some leeway because I am presuming she was intentionally scripted to play a cold human; it stresses how much more familiar she is with the robots. Yeah, it is bad...but as bad as the rest of the movie. Hence, I am blaming the script (realistically, she really has no character growth.)

I am an AvP whore! I have the Alien four pack, I am waiting for the SE Predator movies, and I have played all the games - from Doom mods to Jaguar games to the actual PC AvP games.

Whoever wins, we lose!

Of course, it is being directed by Anderson; I go in beforehand knowing where to set my expectations. Humans dumb, humans die, alien versus predator hilarity ensues, and everything goes BOOM in the end.
