CoD & True Crime Sequels

Activision Announces Record First Quarter 2005 Results (thanks Frans) has the company's financials (thanks Frans) while Call of Duty 2 and True Crime 2 confirmed on GameSpot reports on the results of an analyst call:
For fiscal year 2006 (April 2005 to March 2006), Doornik said Activision will release "sequels to True Crime, Call of Duty, Spider-Man, Tony Hawk, Shrek, and Quake." Doornik did not mention what platforms these sequels would appear on, sparking speculation that the titles could be released on next-generation consoles. However, Doornik only obliquely mentioned that Activision will be "committed at launch to next-generation consoles."

Aye, they mean Quake IV. Raven is developing it instead of id, though.

True Crime 2? That was like one of the worst clone games I've ever played.

Horrible controls, medicore gameplay, horrible script, lame characters, bad music.

Is anyone else slightly disturbed they're already talking about the next-gen consoles? The hype is longer than the shelf-life

Aww man, it was a long shot but I hoped after CoD we'd be done with recycled MoH games. They are, and always were stupid.

Oh well.

New rule. If you're going to talk out of your ass, just write the word "fart" and spare us the time it takes to read your useless drivel.

My guess is that Quake IV will be first released on consoles. (It's just a guess from reading the press report)

bid, I sincerely doubt Raven would do that to us.

Nice to see any news about Quake IV these days. Hoping to get more info on it soon, before I lock myself in a room and play Doom 3 for the next 3 months.

No kidding, True Crime (on pc) was a joke. All in all, the game was there, IMHO, but the controls.. the controls were something .. i don't have the words to describe them right now. A shame, because (always imho) the game itself wasn't that bad

I am really, really tired of the whole "World War" FPS games. I figure that I may pick up one of them, but that is about it. Looking at MoH, CoD, and BoB, methinks I would go with BoB.

Looking more toward Nvidia than ATI now,

The problem with games like CoD is that people have accepted them as realistic, when they aren't. It's just so many things that aren't right. And while I wouldn't mind a few "action" WWII themed games every now and then, they now appear to be the norm.

And all games like CoD and MoH seem to do right now is to copy stuff from popular movies/TV Shows/whatever instead of show people new parts of World War II. And you know, there was fighting in Wolrd War II before the Americans became involved....
