A post to the HL2 World
Forums reproduced on their front page
offers an email reply reportedly from Gabe Newell with the status of Half-Life 2
(thanks Marcoux and Voodoo
Extreme), offering some crunch time math:
Right now we are looking at
our bug numbers. Each day you fix some bugs and you find some new bugs. The net
number tells you how quickly you will get to zero.
At our current rate of find/fix bugs, we'll be down to zero bugs in 16
days.
I remember a while back when the copy protection scheme for HL2 was announced to be an online verification via Steam.
Is this still the case?
Steam = evil
No $upport = make it go away
Granted, if you banned every company that did stupid shit, you'ld have succumbed to the elements or starvation some time ago so you DO have to pick your battles
