Actually its not too bad. Very much like NOLF has that same feel but different content.

Like how you and the pipe you have get bloodier the more you use it and the pipe gets all mangled up was fun.

Only played it for 20min but so far very nice..

Download 273mb to play for an hour, no thanks.

Then I can buy the demo? Gee thanks, I've always wanted to purchase a demo of a game, that would be so special.

Your not buying the demo you are unlocking the whole game. That download is everything. A lot of companies are doing this now; you can download a lot of full games from fileplanet and others.

I would imagine in a few years this will start to hurt software stores. I'm sure either this round of consoles or the next, this will be how you can buy games...more than likely rent games.

So does the game reset to the main menu after an hour - or are you prevented from playing it at ALL after the hour is over? I assume it just restarts you from the begining ...

I remember when the Postal II demo was released with a time limit ... didn't take long for someone to figure out how to set it to an unlimited amount of time. Isn't Lithtech running the risk that someone will figure out how to do that here - which means they'd get the whole game for free?

Its trymedia locked.

Fact no way around it. Cant be reset or hacked. I dont think anyone has cracked the trymedia copyprotection. Very difficult.

Once your hour is up it should kick you out of game and it wont start ever again till ya pay.

Remember that Trymedia modifies the exe and that no patches will work with their version. Their version also tends to be incompatible with the CD version if you try to play online.

Yes Vipermmx is purposely lying to us about copy protection. Really you don't need to be so dramatic there Hood, can't we just say he is possibly mistaken?

Anyway the store shelf game is cracked so it is really a moot point whether this version can be also.

Now can we get some more feedback if this is worth downloading? I'm a bit wary of Valusoft.

"Once your hour is up it should kick you out of game and it wont start ever again till ya pay."

Well, that just seems ridiculous. I could understand making you start all over - which is what the Postal II demo did, and the Grand Theft Auto demo before that - but to ONLY let you play ONCE for an hour is a bad deal. I don't expect demos to last forever, but one hour seems a bit extreme ...

A Contract JACK mod... Jul 10, 2004, 20:07

This game uses the same weapons, sound effects and some of the character models from Contract Jack/NOLF2. The weapon models are changed very slightly but otherwise they are identical. This game is nothing great but worth a budget price for a few hours of shoot 'em up. I love the Jupiter engine, (remember how good it looks in Tron2.0!) I wish many more games used it. It also seems that this engine is going to be used for second rate budget games from now on since Lithtech has developed a new engine that will be used in FEAR and future blockbuster titles.

I wasnt trying to lie heh. Im pretty sure nobody has hacked Trymedia secure. Trymedia software is Full games with locks for time limit. If it was hacked there is over 50+ games that could be gotten for free. I dont think its possible.

I dont think trymedia can be hacked. Nobody has of yet. So many devs would lose money if it did.

As for the game its fun I do like the jupitar engine.

Also remember you have 1 hour of gametime its not like a demo. If you could play through the whole game in 1 hour it would be possible

So can you, say, play for ten minutes and then come back to it later? And it just keeps track until you hit the 60 minute mark?

Stay away from this version of the game! It is not a real demo. This game is protected with Trymedia's ActiveMARK copy-protection system. This copy-protection is particularly draconian because it is tied to the hardware of the PC on which it is activated/registered (Think Windows XP retail activation only worse.). So, if you upgrade your PC/replace components or replace your entire PC, you must request a new activation from Trymedia. When Trymedia goes out of business or refuses to give you a new activation, then you are sh*t out of luck if you want to play the full game for which you paid.

I strongly recommend that people avoid buying games from Trygames.com like this one because of this copy-protection scheme. In addition, many games from Trygames.com are NOT the same as the retail CD-ROM versions in content either. They have more in common with "ripped" versions of games (missing movies and audio tracks), and given that ActiveMARK encrypts many of the game files, creating mods with these games is not possible even if mods can be made with the retail version.
