D-Day Demo

A demo version of D-Day is now available, offering the chance to sample the real-time strategy gameplay in Digital Reality's upcoming World War II game. The 313 MB download includes a single-player mission and a multiplayer map, here's a description: "The single-player mode gives players the opportunity to experience the now-infamous Omaha Beach landing, with archived footage and detailed descriptions of the units involved lending a sense of realism to the proceedings. The multi-player mode offers a different map, specifically engineered to thrill up to four players at once." The demo can be downloaded from one of these mirrors: 3D Gamers, ActionTrip, Boomtown (registration required), Computer Games Online, Gamer's Hell, and Worthplaying.

I was really keen to check out this game, both because I (still) dig WW2 games, but also because I wanted to check out the archived footage that was included.

Needless to say, after seeing that they've put copy protection on a freely distributable demo (that means I have to reboot after installing, are you kidding?!?), I've lost all interest.
