D-Day Demo

A demo version of D-Day is now available, offering the chance to sample the real-time strategy gameplay in Digital Reality's upcoming World War II game. The 313 MB download includes a single-player mission and a multiplayer map, here's a description: "The single-player mode gives players the opportunity to experience the now-infamous Omaha Beach landing, with archived footage and detailed descriptions of the units involved lending a sense of realism to the proceedings. The multi-player mode offers a different map, specifically engineered to thrill up to four players at once." The demo can be downloaded from one of these mirrors: 3D Gamers, ActionTrip, Boomtown (registration required), Computer Games Online, Gamer's Hell, and Worthplaying.

Is this from the same people as DRvsAK? It certainly seems the same - the gameplay is similarly deep, the interface is clean and familar and they're both so god damn hollow. I dunno why, but this just feels so lifeless and uninvolving. The voice acting is also as bad - one of the pain shouts sounds almost sarcastic.

I must check out Codename Panzers. Of course, what I really want is Close Combat 6.

EDIT: Is this the new Codename Panzers demo?
