Lionhead in Play?

A report on MCV offers some speculation about the possibility that Lionhead Studios, the U.K.-based developer founded by gaming icon Peter Molyneux, may be in the process of being acquired (thanks HomeLAN Fed). Vague word is:
The news was yet to be confirmed at the time of press, but the Guildford studio has been linked with the likes of Activision, Microsoft and Eidos. The latter has denied a swoop, leaving the two US publishers - who both boast strong relationships with Lionhead - as frontrunners.

IF they let Lionhead get acquired by Activision / EA / whoever, Mole8ye87tye7yt97454i 5h4wkjnkjngj really needs to keep his fucking yap shut about how it affects his ability to 'make the games he wants to make'.

And yet, it seems game developers are the stupidest fucking morons on the planet in that sense. Even the dumbest dog will eventually learn that if a fence is electrified, it's not a good thing to bump your nose against it.

Game developers : Small studio, make succesful games, get bought up by big publisher for tons of cash, make shitty games, bitch about how big publisher fucks with their ability to make the games they want, split off, make (marginally) good game, get bought up by big publisher for tons of cash, which they don't need because they already HAVE tons of cash (hello, anyone who thinks molyfraggle doesn't have several million smackers in the bank needs to check the man's sales records), and the cycle repeats.

Nice going. Come on Pete, sell your studio to EA, whom you just KNOW will leave all the decisions in your hands {/sarcasm}, then start scheduling those bitching interviews. Don't let me down.
