PC Riddick Planned [Jul 02, 2004, 11:10 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Following up on some recent speculation,
Best-selling Butcher Bay PC-bound on GameSpot (thanks Zombi Z) has word that
a PC edition of the console movie tie-in game is in the works, though they may
not necessarily be striking while the iron is hot: "We can confirm that there
will be a PC version of Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. At this
time we are not revealing any further details, including its release date. We'll
have more information soon."
It's amazing how you guys insist that the game will suck, without even GLANCING at the developer's name and what they've done.
Apparently not a single one of you idiots remembers Enclave. The Xbox version was bombed for horrible control, making its fantastic visuals rather pointless. A few months later, they released a PC version, with perfect controls. Enclave is fun stuff...quite linear, but definitely not poorly done.
Riddick has far, FAR higher production values, and good controls FOR WHAT IT'S ON. I wouldn't be surprised if the PC version is absolutely stunning.
Oh, and as for the game having low-res textures...you very obviously never looked at Enclave or the PC port of Halo. Both of them have high-detail textures.
The day one of you retards actually does some research instead of making up your own reasons ("because they can get away with lower-res textures on a tv"), you might actually be believable. I CONSTANTLY see people complain about Nintendo/Xbox/PS2 fanboys, but they never seem to realize that they're PC fanboys. Your system of choice is not neccessarily the best at doing everything.
Anyway, rant over, I'm interested to see how this one turns out...and if it runs smoothly.
