Anyone else catch that battlefield 2 video? Looked like some Havok 2.0 goodness to me! Havok is the shiz. I need to get painkiller still.. is there a site that lists all havok 2.0 games?

Heh, that's not the first time I've heard such a thing. It's kinda weird if you look at it, look at all the developments in computer gaming, has any had such a big effect as a good physics engine?

I know I've cackled quite a few times after knocking people over ledges, shooting them off roofs in Painkiller, and such. I play Far Cry multiplayer quite a bit, and usually end up getting shot because I'm watching some poor sap fall off a cliff. I've always wished for some Havok game to include a sandbox mode to play around and make cool situations like that.

it specifically mentioned Half Life 2 sort of like it was the crowning achievement of her career.

It probably was, other than now doing broadway Rent. Which really is a great show, I'd like to see it again.

I saw the voice actress for Alyx in the Broadway production of Rent when I went to New York about a month ago. I think she sounded a bit raspy...

Whats funny is that when the program mentioned her bio, it specifically mentioned Half Life 2 sort of like it was the crowning achievement of her career.

By the time the game comes out all those XT cards will be discounted thanks to the x800 et al, be pretty fucking funny if instead of selling a few million copies they got shedloads of tokens instead.

Try not to get hacked again. Hell, hire me and i'll redesign your entire infrastructure and drop in some netscreen boxes with the manager and you'll be set.

How convienent, and Aug release date. Sounds like a bucnch of crap to me after Dooms released date was stated as being Aug 3rd. I finfd this very coinsidental and very typical of Valve.

Nothing was said of an August release date. He said they were planning on delivering it to Vivendi in August (which could mean anytime in August), and he said that like 2 weeks ago before this so called Doom 3 release date. Delivering it to Vivendi means it goes through their testing before being sent to be delivered for duplication. I'd still expect a September release, anyone thinking August for HL2 has their hopes to high.

They already said that the code theft had nothing to do with them not meeting them release date (sept 30 last year).

However, I wonder if all those delay have been caused by finishing HL2 itself or making all the other content (HL1, CS, DOD to Source).

Either way, what really interest me is the pricing scheme of all that thing. I want to play trough HL:Source before HL2, but I won't pay any extra for what's essentially a 5 years old game.

Oh, and for those "bored" with the game already, I'm betting you spent the last year kepping up to date with the game. I simply stopped caring halfway trough last summer and I still want to play it. The fact that there hasen't been a great game this year doesn't help either (still have to try Thief3 though).

I'm just reallly curious, isn't this game nearly a year late? What the hell were they thinking when they put HL2 coupons in the ATI 9800XT cards? We are on the next rev of the Silicon already and they still don't have a firm ship date, and they are bragging about the voice talent? Come on, that to me makes this pretty clear that the code theft last year had nothing to do with the delay. They were clearly blowing smoke up our collective asses about the game being ready to ship back then. I was really looking forward to HL2, but this is just rediculous. Please don't let this turn into another Daikatana, or worse, Duke Nukem Forever.

Tumbler..

I agree with you. I'm sick of the game and it's not even out yet.

I still look forward to it though, because I know it will either be HL2 or an HL2 mod that will be the game I dedicate myself to for the next couple years.

Actually, I've always been a Tribes fan. It's gonna crack me up if Tribes Vengence ends up being more fun online that either of them.

I think Gabe should have a temporary restraining order put in place. He's not allowed within 50 feet of anything resembling PR until the game's done. Either that, or seal his mouth somehow. Not only will he not talk, but he'll be losing weight while Half-Life 2 gets completed. Everybody wins!

Wonder where the hype meter stands for this game. I feel like no one cares anymore, when it comes out, it's out. Whoopee, feels like an old game already.

In an interview on Homelan I said we were planning on delivering the game to Sierra in August, and subsequently I've been bombarded with emails asking me if that is accurate.

Yep, to the best of our admittedly weak planning abilities, we are looking at August.
