Out of the Blue

Thanks to my friends in the forums here for straightening out my misunderstanding about the second Matrix movie yesterday, I feel a bit sheepish about having bothered to ramble on about a quote I hadn't bothered to verify.

Meanwhile, I can't say that it's the work of agents or the architect, but my work PC has gone nuts, and is crashing every five minutes...

Speaking of failure to verify, the guys who are supposed to fix our roof were to have called us one of the past two nights to say which of the past two days they would be coming by. They didn't call however, possibly in part due to the rain we've had the past couple of days... of course in addition to preventing them from repairing the leak, the rain actually provokes the leak... at one point with water pouring through the ceiling yesterday I got a flash of being Tyler Durden working in the flooded basement in Fight Club. Anyway, they called this morning (yeesh) to confirm that they are indeed coming, so I may have falling plaster to deal with as all this goes on. When it rains, it pours, or something like that.

Halsy,
Unless you are not a citizen of the United States, which you might very well not be (I honestly have no idea if you are), then President Bush is YOUR president. He was elected into office which makes him the President of all US citizens. I can already hear your rebuttal, “He wasn’t elected by me.” I could begin a long dissertation on the Electoral College, and how it works, but this is neither the time nor the place. The fact remains, if you are a citizen of the United States, he is your president. You don’t like it? Then organize your voting age friends and change it in November. I don’t begrudge you your right to question the motives of our leaders. In fact, I embrace it. We should all question the motives, and decisions of those in power. That, my “knowledgeable” friend is what will keep the United States great. However, does this mean that you should name call, or regurgitate conspiracy theories from political opponents? No, it does not. What you should be doing is presenting a well laid out argument consisting of facts and verifiable sources, not opinions or rumors. Bush is not the perfect president, and I never made the case that he was. I do question his orders and ideas quite often. I currently have a brother, as well as quite a few friends serving overseas, so you better believe I question what we are fighting for every day. Whether or not I agree with everything Bush says is a moot point. I do respect him as The President of the United States, as well as our commander in chief.

It really burns you clowns on the right that those of us on the left are generally much more educated and intelligent, doesn't it?

This kind of comment is exactly why people hate the “left”, the ole “holier then thou” mind set. This belief and always proclaiming it like it is an empirical fact is what makes people hate you and the left. It is also why Bush got in office, and is also why Bush will get back in office. Now, that is a very important point and you (and people like you) really need to learn it.

Someone who thinks he is smarter than someone else and can not learn something from anyone is not smart at all, just full of him self. And by the way, remembering a bunch of facts or having a good system to look the up is not “educated” or “intelligent”. Intelligence comes from the ability to reason and figure out solutions to problems, not decided on a solution because you dislike someone or some group of people, because those people you dislike have just a good of a chance as being right as you.

And FYI, no the left is not “generally much more educated and intelligent” than the right, the left generally are just as stupid and become puppets for someone who lies just as easily. And though you would think it, you are no candidate for a political office of any kind and any way. One, you are not “educated and intelligent” enough in the sciences (which time and again you have down-right proven you are ignorant in the sciences) which a leader must be able to chose from and most of the time those choice will be based on “scientific” fact and theory, not because it disagrees with your personal feelings. Two, you are way to stuck-up, snooty, self righteous and pompous. I would much rather have Bush as the emperor of the United States of America for the rest of my life then spend one day in a city with you Mayor.

You are not smart, and you prove this every time you get in a political debate by starting the insults like a 12 year old (which most, But not all the time you start, and truly mean it to hurt the person). You obviously can not reason, just quote facts on which you have been told by people you like are right.
You are also incredibly lazy, as it is lazy to want to say “this person” and “these people” are responsible for all our problems, that is lazy. You will say later you do not think it is just one faction, yet you always argue like it is one, because it is the easy and lazy way out, nor does it challenge your “holier then thou” jack-hole attitude and affiliations.

That is not to say you do not have merits and the ability to learn very well, which you do. Your greatest merit is you truly want to help, the problem is you hurt your augments more than help them, and you are blindly taking sides to a argument because you see a graph that says this person/these people are wrong.

Halsy, after reading most of the inane posts that you make, and your blatent paranoia, I doubt that you know much about anything.

Really? If that's the case, why don't you shoot my posts down with some strong critical analysis if they're so inane? Oh, I know, because you can't. So put up or shut up.

Newsflash, bud, I'm not a Kerry supporter. And I've never stated that everything on the left is good and everything on the right is bad, so I'll thank you not to put words in my mouth. I am, however, polarized on the subject of politics because I know considerably more about it and political history than most people do, including you - as your lack of qualified refutation attests to.

Calling "our" president names? He's a usurper and pertender, and he's certainly not my president. If the shoe fits, wear it. You think simply because I make fun of a man - who certainly deserves to be made fun of - that I'm not very knowledgable? Excuse me, but your ignorance is showing. The very fact that you respect and want to defend that clown speaks volumes about you. And you call me polarized? LOL!

I, on the other hand, actually take the time to look into the issues and research them.

It really burns you clowns on the right that those of us on the left are generally much more educated and intelligent, doesn't it? So once again, if you're capable - which I highly doubt you are - of refuting my "inane and paranoid" (typical right-wing paranoia transference) posts, do so. I'd love to see this research in action, because I haven't so far. All I see is one petty little man who's never bothered to refute what I've said and has only engaged in insults and character assassination - which is very typical of those who don't know jack.

I well and truly pity you. Please feel free to post something intelligent and to prove me wrong.

The Halsy is a pompous know it all who can't be debated. He'll simply start insulting your intelligence if he can't debate your points.

What points? You see, you need to actually make points for me to refute them. I'm just calling a spade a spade here. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen, junior.

You fellows really need to get your hypocrisy in check. I've never even said two words to either of you idiots, but you both come out attacking me because you lack the brains and education for honest debate - because if you didn't, you would have done so by now - and then accuse me of libeling others? Newsflash, moron, I'm simply RESPONDING in kind. Don't like it? Then don't start it.

Halsy, after reading most of the inane posts that you make, and your blatent paranoia, I doubt that you know much about anything. I'm proud to be a registered, voting republican. Does this mean I agree with everything that Bush has done or said? No. At the same time, I also don’t automatically assume that everything Kerry says is wrong. That, my “knowledgeable” friend, is where you go wrong. You are polarized on the subject of politics. Everything left is good, everything right is bad. I, on the other hand, actually take the time to look into the issues and research them. As a republican, and more importantly a patriotic American, I realize that there are times when the republicans have the right idea and when the liberals have the right idea. You seem to think in terms of black and white, good and evil. I feel sorry for you because it seems that the most important thing you do all day is come to a video game website to rant about republicans and Bush. I welcome the fact that you have an alternate point of view; however I question your judgment of the proper time, place, and expression of that idea. Calling our President “Monkey Boy” proves to me that you are not knowledgeable about politics and must resort to first grade name calling to make a point. Please feel free to post something intelligent and to prove me wrong.

ok, i'll take that as u won't reply to my posts anymore. so we don't have to worry about me trying to "bait you into an argument" because now we have, with absolute certainty, a guarantee that u will not reply. there's no point in me trying to bait you into an argument because we all know it would be a futile attempt. and posting positive things about a former president is hardly flame bait for anyone else (and i won't comment on how sad it is that most people here consider that flame bait) so that should clear up my intentions

thanks, i knew i could count on u to be a man about this halsey

Yes, Reagan died recently, but that was covered, you're not saying anything new.

complicity's recent posts:

Donnie Darko coming to theaters - i can't find the reference but i know someone else has said this before and it was fairly recently

You mean Brother & Sister commentaries, don't you? - the sex change was covered on Feb. 25, post #4: http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewthread&threadid=47305&id=150684&boardid=1&view=flatnew

i'm sorry but i think i missed your point about not adding anything new to these message boards?

That just means the government can't censor what you say, you actually have no right to free speech in a privately-owned forum like this.

umm duh i knew that. u missed my point. also, this topic has been discussed before here many many times but i can't find the links, but needless to say u arent adding anything new to this topic.
