Yeah, you are rigt. I found out the hard way that it was not just one mod that was screwing things up I am now afraid to add any mod for fear of not being able to play any games online. Is Epic aware of this issue? I hope they fix thins in an upcoming patch. Or atleast tell all MSU contestants to fix it when they release their mod

There's a bug in the UT2004 serverbrowse code which causes the "cannot connect" problem. I found out about this and applied the fix code that was published on the unreal wiki in CarBall Version 1.4. It's quite possible another mod you have installed has not applied any code to fix this issue

I'm currently attempting to add bot support to CarBall. That's going to take a while so no new releases for a bit

From what I've heard the UT2k4 3204 patch doesn't cause incompatibilities between client and server, if you don't install the patch. However you may run into bugs...the most common being the ragdoll deaths in Mods.

Hmmmm .... that is a good suggestion. But the problem is that less then a week ago, I could connect without any problems. This only happened after I installed mods. Problem is, I don't know which mod broke the game ....

I used to get that when I tried to connect to servers with lower patch numbers.

On a completely unrelated note, I cannot play UT2K4 on the Internet anymore. My CD-key it NOT banned. I can go to the in-game server browser, select a server, and join. Then I get the loading screen, it even loads skins and other things off the server I joined, but then I get an error message saying "Connection Failed"

It was working fine before, but I have a feeling one of the mods I installed has broken the functionality. Anyone know of a fix? I even re-installed the game, but no dice. I will go in tonight and uninstall the whole thing, mods and all, and start from scratch after I run Norton Win-Doctor and clean up the registry. Hopefully that will fix it. But I would rather avoid all that if there is a simple fix, because downloading all those mods all over again is a hassle I would rather not go through again.

I've waiting for version 1.12. That should be next Tuesday, I think, based on their release dates so far.
