As for the election, I really can't see putting Bush in office again... but, like many, it's not so much a vote for Kerry as a vote against Bush. And that worries me... putting someone in office just because you dislike the current office holder is a lousy way to run things. But there's really no other choice... Nader is more freaky than Bush and Kerry combined.
Oh, and to The Truth -- we are not a parlimantry system. We have a two party system and it's pretty much stacked against any independant -- if you're not part of one of the two main parties you don't automatically get a spot on the ballot, you may not get any government funds for running your campaign, and are generally required to jump through enough hoops that you're doomed to failure. Generally there's less than half a dozen independants elected to major office (US Congress and state governor) across the entire country. If you add in state congress then I'd be surprised if it's above 50. And I'm not sure that there are any independants in Federal circuit courts -- certainly none on the Supreme Court.
