Competitions- Tribal Wars 2004

Tribal Wars announces sponsors and prizes for Tribal-Wars 2004, "the worlds first bi-coastal LAN Party." Registration for Tribal-Wars 2004 kicks off this Friday, and the event will take place July 22-25 in Washington DC and Los Angeles, CA, and will incorporate beta testing of TRIBES Vengeance. Here's the deal on how that will work:
The Tribes: Vengeance Private Beta will be available to all participants. To take part in the Beta pre-release, preorder your copy of Tribes: Vengeance from a retail store of your choosing, and bring the original dated receipt along to trade for your own personal copy of the Private Beta at either Tribal Wars location.

Yeah, that was my fault. I wasn't thinking clearly when editing the press release. :-)

You only need to SHOW your receipt. Not hand it over. Just something to prove you tossed down your $5 to reserve the game.

Ya sure? It says:
and bring the original dated receipt along to trade for your own personal copy of the Private Beta at either Tribal Wars location.

"trade" would imply a swap of some sort...

Where are the "No Purchase Neccessary" instructions?

He cut the possum's face off then cut around the eye socket. In the center of the belt buckle, where the possum's eye would be, he has placed a small piece of wood from his old '52 Ford's home made railroad tie bumper. Damn, he misses that truck.

I dont understand. If i give them the original dated receipt of the pre-order, won't that entail me not-getting my pre-order?

I understand in the old days a private beta test meant you usually get a free copy of the game anyhow, but this arrangement above just seems a tad odd.

The first time I'll drive 100+ miles after pre-ordering a game to participate in a beta of a game which has some serious potential. Either that or I could take the train...but that'd be boring. I love LA traffic!
