As I mentioned yesterday, we are babysitting this weekend, playing host to a
pair of boys, one six, and the other just shy of four. Luckily we have Hudson
the wonder dog to assist with this, as she is great with kids, and can match
even the most sugar-fuelled youngsters' energy levels. So with a little
trepidation, we are looking forward to the experience... I'll let you know how
things go (I'm guessing a couple of you parents out there are already amused by what they know we are
in for here).

Gallery looks no harder to set up than say, Movable Type.
Never screwed with MT, but Gallery is reasonably simple (I've installed simpler php apps, but they didn't do as much either). Most of the stuff can be left at default unless you want to do something wacky.
Of course, you do need the pre-requisites, which if you're not running a recent version of Linux, may be problematic (Apache, php, ImageMagick, etc). My server's running RH9, so no problems.
I'm just too lazy to spend the time with the layout to make it look like the rest of my site.
Gallery pretty much is my site, so no problems there
Hell, if you surfed to the root of my home server (as innumerable script kiddies and viruses do) you still get the default "this isn't setup" page from Apache.
