I think you bought The Sims: Abu Ghraib Prison

And I thought there was nothing funny to say about The Sims anymore.

I was wrong.

The expansions that let you get out of the house (Hot Date, Vacation, and... uh, the one with pets) are considerably more resource-intensive than the original. These ones add (marginally) to the scope of the game. Otherwise, the expansions just add more stuff (right off the bat), but it's still the same damn game that came out in, uh, February 2000.

I feel a good deal of guilt and shame over my (repeated!) purchases of Sims expansion packs. I keep hoping they'll bring back the magic of the first week of gameplay, but no, it still seems like some horrible God-awful tedious chore every time I decide to install it.

Im able to get The Sims and 7 of its expansions for a cheap price but i was wondering how it works if you install all the expansions for it. Does it merely stay the same game but you get every item available in all the expansions right from the off set or what?

From a fresh install (make sure you install them in order), you get everything upfront, including the new locations to drag your sims to (vacation, mall, etc.)...

Could be worse dude...she could have put DEER HUNTER on your computer.

Serious Question May 25, 2004, 16:08

As much as i hate the sims and find it tediously boring, i have a serious question about it and its expansions.

My girlfriend is addicted to the game but her pc isnt good enough to play it so its unfortunately stuck on my pc and she plays it here but i got a question about it and its expansions.

Im able to get The Sims and 7 of its expansions for a cheap price but i was wondering how it works if you install all the expansions for it. Does it merely stay the same game but you get every item available in all the expansions right from the off set or what?

Its her birthday coming up so was thinking of getting this bundle for her but should it be a waste to run all the expansions at the same time i dont see a point so any help from you folks would be much appreciated.

"The Sims Super Duper Mega Uber Grand, coming next month."

But that will only have four of the expansions.

But it's fun

For a few days at the most. I'd say its good up until the point you've tortured your sims in every way possible. After you've sealed your sims in a room with no doors and watch them defecate themselves and eventually die, there's really nothing left to see.

I don't see what the point of buying it is, considering the full-fledged sequel isn't far off. It's just a last ditch attempt by EA to milk cash out of this older cow before they put it to rest for good.

You'd think with a name like Mega Deluxe it would include ALL the expansions. I guess that one would be The Sims Super Duper Mega Uber Grand, coming next month.

Not to be confused with:

"The Sims: Cashin' In!"
