Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow Patches Return

The circus surrounding the Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow version 1.2 patches (two following stories) adds a third ring, as Ubisoft has decided the patches they released and then revoked are good to go after all. The patches can be downloaded from Ubisoft's FTP server, and mirrored on 3D Gamers, ActionTrip, Adrenaline Vault, Gamer's Hell, Games-Fusion, and Worthplaying.

Ubisoft is a French owned company, they have many smaller shops all over the world, like EA has: EA north, EA west, EA Vancouver (Now EA Montreal) etc. Montreal is just one such small Ubisoft shop, they used Montreal as a base to develop North American titles because many Montreal developers are bilingual so they can translate all the French Titles made in France as well as develop their own titles. The First Splinter Cell was coded entirely in Montreal including its engine. Pandora Tomorrow was programed in Germany using the previous engine while Ubisoft Montreal was hard at work on the next gen engine and third instalment of Splinter Cell. I live in Montreal and a friend of mine has been working on Splinter Cell 3 since day the first one came out.

I'm always fascinated to see people like you insisting to prove how dumb they are on the internet.

If you think I'm stupid that's your perogative. I know my own intelligence and worth, and some worthless snide remark won't affect that one bit.

Whats your fucking point?

I'll answer that with a quote:

The whole "My Country is less Evil/Corrupt/Lame than your country" BS has to stop.

My point is that people seem to think that the European countries that opposed the US led war were doing so out of virtue, nobility and the belief that going to war in Iraq would lead to bad things. Had the US had favorable oil contracts with Saddam and the French and Russians did not we'd all be decrying the oil-lusting, invasion-launching, baby-killing, vast-right-wing-conspiracy-member governments in France and Russia.

While I don't really support the war in Iraq the idea that the US is anymore evil than Europe is stupid. The US did something ethically questionable and at the cost of many lives in order to look out for it's oil interests, something that Europe isn't above and surely would have engaged in had the situation been reversed.

I agree.

Now lets all agree that everyone is as good and as bad as each other. Apart from the French, who smell.

And while the US led war wasn't as noble as Bush would have you believe, the French reasons for non-involvement were not out of some sense of war being wrong: they had favorable oil contracts with the existing Saddam regime.

Whats your fucking point? Now the US has favorable, wait, how about exclusive multi-billion dollar rebuilding contracts setup for a Halliburton subsidiary. Not to mention oil contracts that will most likely go to American companies.

The whole "My Country is less Evil/Corrupt/Lame than your country" BS has to stop.

PS. Ubisoft needs to start working on inter-company communications

Godless, people have made fun of the French long before the Iraq War. Even if they had supported the US people would still be making fun of them. And while the US led war wasn't as noble as Bush would have you believe, the French reasons for non-involvement were not out of some sense of war being wrong: they had favorable oil contracts with the existing Saddam regime.

Now here is the question, are the patches the same files that were released earlier? Anyone have the original patch and can do a diff between the 2?
(and even though I hate people who post offtopic, I have to address the person who commented about the weapons of mass destruction, I have 2 words for you, SARIN GAS. nuff said.)

Godless, well said.

Also, Blue, how can you refer to older news posts as "following" ?

They do appear below the current article, but i still think you should use the word "previous".

And yes, thats beeing super nitpicky.

This French hating nonsense has got to stop. They didn't support the US in its bs war against Irak pretty much like the rest of the free world. They were just more vocal about it, and guess what? THEY WERE RIGHT! Get over yourselves for once.

After the weapons of mass destruction fiasco and the big fuck up your country has made in this country the least you could do is keep a low profile.

And no, I'm not French.
