Had a fine old time with the family yesterday... there were three youngsters present, creating a fun distraction. There was also the amount of crying one would expect from a group composed of a one-year-old, a three-year-old, and a six-year-old, funny thing is, it was in reverse of expected order, with the six-year-old most frequently upset, and my niece, who will be two in a few months, not managing to find a reason to cry once. The Mother's Day festivities are not complete yet, as today is Dia de la Madre in Mexico.
Speaking of festivities, E3 kicks off this week. The conference starts tomorrow, and the expo begins on Wednesday. It has been interesting to watch the way E3 announcements get rolled-out evolve over the years, as they used to happen during the show, but more and more of them occur in the preceding weeks, probably to avoid overshadowing each other. Anyway, we've certainly had our share of pre-E3 announcements in the past few weeks, but there must be some that haven't happened yet, and the chance to learn what they are is upon us.
In keeping with recent tradition, I'll cover the show from high command here in the BlueTower, and in keeping with the same tradition, I am, again, resolving to get out to the show in person again one of these years. To be honest, it doesn't really present a positive as far as covering the show, but I miss the opportunity to see old friends (Frans, for instance, is in attendance), and really miss the carnival atmosphere of the show, which to me has always seemed akin to walking around inside a giant pinball machine.
