How about Coop, Oh wait they want you to buy an xbox for that feature, and how ironic there is a xbox halo bundle ad at the top of my screen.

Unlike the rest of the n00bs bitching about it I'll give it a try later on.

I'm too lazy to investigate this further my self . . . can any one tell me why this CE release is even remotely interesting to someone who finished the game and rarely (if at all) plays the multiplayer?

Thanks!

The answer to your question should be really really REALLY obvious. This is a stand-alone multiplayer version of Halo. Obviously it wouldn't really be of interest to someone who doesn't care for MP Halo.

Though the release of the mod tools might increase interest in multiplayer.

The mod tools have been released - take a look at the worthplaying link. Now if only I could find a mirror that works...

Isn't UT2k4's Onslaught way better than Halo MP in every respect? I only played Halo MP very briefly, but it didnt seem like anything to get excited over. Would have been cool 2 years ago....

No. Onslaught's weapons and vehicles suck.

Smoother graphics and netcode, slightly more interesting game style, much shittier fun factor.

Halo did most things wrong, but they got the vehicles right. UT2K4's just blow.

Why weren't these optimisations included with the original Single player release?

It's nice of them to support a game but I can't see it reviving the PC Halo community when there are so many better engines about to mod for.

i played halo mp via xbox and gamespy's xbox tunnel for the longest time and i enjoyed the careful attention to strategy and tactics one would have to observe while playing CTF on BG or hang em high. but onslaught blew it all away. ut2k4 requirse far more skill and just being a more developed implementation of the things halo brought to the table means you have to think more in trying to be successful. halo is a great game but ive naturally gravitated towards ut2k4

Have you even played UT2k4? What is "all wrong" with them? What's better about the Halo vehicle physics?

Lot of people smoking their breakfast this morning it seems like.
