I like it so far. I've had a hell of a time finding a decent server. I just love the server browser...How do you tell the difference between a server pinging ? and a server pinging XXX? Also the vehicles are amusing. When I am in the equivalent of a front wheel drive K-Car and I'm having trouble driving in a straight line, you can say the vehicle physics are dubious at best. Though doing 720s in a Hummer off of a hill does have its charm.

Developer says: "This is a beta, it is not representitive of the final product and may contain bugs"

Developer means: "This is an alpha, it IS representative of the final product but has lots of bugs and missing features."

As the user below this post said:

Even with all the bugs fixed it would still be nothing even close to what it claims to be.

They should have spent more time on things that matter instead of making dancing animations.

The game is already a failure from design. Implementation only adds up to it.

IMHO

And this is why game developers tend not to release public betas.

Developer: "This is a beta, it is not representitive of the final product and may contain bugs"

End User: "WAAA WAAA this game suxors, it is so teh ghey why don't the learnt to program, what is wrong with these loozers??!!"

Even if all the bugs were worked out, the game would still be crappy budgetware.

It plays terribly, everything seems so amateurish.

I watched a co-worker struggle with the 2nd demo release last week. He's got a 3 gig, Radeon 9800 Pro, 512mb or RAM. Not only did it take 5 minutes (at least) to get connected to a server, he couldn't do anything once he got in the game. It was laggy as hell, and once he mounted a vehicle he couldn't dismount it- despite going thru the key mappings serveral times.

I can't recall who it was that posted it here last week, but I think it is pretty much 100% accurate.

FarCry on the other hand is really promising. I just played the demo last night (yeah I'm a bit behind) and am now tempted to buy the game. Yet I still have a copy of Call of Duty here that I haven't played yet.

I agree with both Sadogoat and Paranoid.

My copy of Soldner has been put on hold for you buddy. Sorry, but I don`t think anything remotely like what you just posted.

You can buy weapons before spawning, just use the Equip button.

You mean you can get past the death-match to the point of actually getting a weapon at the weapons shack? Have they removed that brillant idea from the game?

I doubt anything they do to this game will change my mind about buying it or Joint Ops. Both have huge potential but just don't have the gameplay there to pull me in.

I will give it another go when they get to the final demo stage, same as Joint Ops.

I've been continuing to play this since the last demo release. They've been tweaking the servers and I've had some good, stable games that have lasted over an hour lately. Once you get a full server going for a good 10 minutes the gameplay really begins to shine.

The first two attempts at playing this game (the original demo and 'updated' demo) were exercises in frustration and futility. There's no way I'm downloading this thing a third time. It's had its chance to impress and failed.

Is this the patch that makes the service pack more fun than a maintenance update?
