Burger Wars: I guess there is some kind of cel shading going on but it looks absolutely horrible. I appreciate the fact that the developers want to try something different, however, the gametypes are nothing new. The only thing interesting is the 'score burger' concept. From the looks of some of the screenshots I almost thought the gameplay was like Half-Life's
Science and Industry mod. This is the type of game that, on impulse, seems like a cool idea. Then you buy the game, and it sucks, but you try to con your friends into buying it too. Because, well, dude it would be cool, like, shooting burgers and fries at each other, you know?. However they're all off playing Battlefield 1942 or UT2k4, wisely leaving you to wallow in your pathetic-ness.
Do developers have to start somewhere? Yes.
Is this the way to do it? No.
Would anyone really want to be walking into a hot game interview with BURGER WARS on their resume? I picture it like:
Developer: "Hi, I was the lead programmer on Burger Wars, and..."
Producer: "Get the fuck out of my office!"
Thanks but no thanks Amped Labs.
