Interplay for details like the publisher's "disparity between its cash balance
of $1.2 million and working-capital deficit of $14.8 million," and that "As of
April 1, 2004, the Company [Interplay] was three months in arrears on the rent
obligations for its corporate lease in Irvine, California." This three months
worth of rent is to the tune of $450,000. The story goes on to report:
"On April 9, 2004, the Company's lessor served it with a Three-Day Notice to Pay Rent or Surrender Possession," continued the 8-K filing. "If the Company is unable to pay its rent, it may lose its office space, which would interrupt operations and cause substantial harm to business."...
Given that it has been three days since April 9, the eviction matter should have already been settled one way or the other. However, calls and e-mails to Interplay were not returned.
started to get very worried aftrer they canned their NWN-like RPG. I can't think of the name right now, but its on the tip of my tounge. Canceling games is bad business, and they're really made it a tradition.You mean Torn? Yeah, I felt the same way, the game had huge potential, and they cancelled it. Morons, the move with Fallout 3 came as no surprise after that. I'll sound vindictive, but they deserved it, its not like they never knew the rent was due. Shot themselves in the foot with a slew of bad-decisions. Pass Fallout 3 to someone else and go away!
