"Where I'm from (Earth), females ARE the weaker sex. And when they say "weaker sex" they mean physically weaker, not weaker in some abstract emotional or psychological capacity, which is what the majority of you seem to have taken from the statement. A statement of fact is not misogyny.
Its been proven both men and women can equally gain the same muscle mass, so this statement is untrue.
I'd like some sources for this "proof". Maybe men and women can gain muscle mass at the same rate, but they don't gain the same amount of muscle mass. This should be pretty self-evident."
According to studies, and yes if you want to be Mr. Wizard about it I'll go post the direct links to the doctor lead studies, men on average have 30% more mass to begin with (in skeletal and muscular build) than the average woman. However, in studies of muscle mass and strength gain, both men and women can achieve the same strength.
And no, this is not saying that women are stronger, are usually as strong, or that janet reno is not a man, simply that they can become as strong. I'm sure it takes more effort on the woman's part too.
