Killcam is the best anti cheat deterrent I've seen, I don't see a need for punkbuster when Killcam let's you see from your killers eyes.

Actually there are some pretty good realism mods at work and gameplay has come along. Even a class system for you ET\Wolf fans. As far as weapon balancing goes.... well your always gonna lose out to a Thompson with a Kar at close quarters. Rifles are harder to rack up scores with but far more rewarding. Nothing more discouraging than to get whacked by someone running around with a BAR and a Panzerfaust but you can always find servers to taste.
PunkBuster has been targeted for a patch release, as stated before, around this time. Didn't the 1.3 beta have PB included? PB will help this game a lot.

There's almost always a trade-off with games these days, like in RTCW - the single player was just 'allright', but at the time, the MP was phenominal, completely phenominal.

MOH and COD Multiplayer lack soul. From the weak gun sounds to the unbalanced gameplay, the uninspiring deathmatch mode, to the totally unsatisfying "objective" mode, the MP games are just BAD. You may as well dust off Unreal Tournament or Quake 3 Arena at that point. I bought both, but only for single player - now that is some amazing stuff that's worth the $100 for these titles. Still, for FPS WW2-themed stuff, stick to Enemy Territory, BF1942, and that 'sorta-used-to-be-fun' WW2 mod for Half Life whose names escapes me right now.

I liked the multiplayer, but like you Absolution, I'm really looking foward to the single player.

This game was fun until they made the snipers so weak. Now it's just a stupid deathmatch game.

Yea I suck at CoD too. SO I am going to blame the Q3a engine. Where on the other hand games like BF takes mad skill to drive a tank and shoot someone on the ground.

Activision is looking to create a franchise with COD just like EA's MOH series. As great as the single player was, the MP was/is plagued by gameplay imballances. From day one there's been a rift between action and realism players. How did the same developers of MOH get MP all mucked up?

When I played online it seemed 99% of it was sniping or shooting from the hip with smgs and scoring a lucky heat shot. BORING. Add the ball hacks and other opengl crap and it just wasn't that fun. I guess they fixed some of that, but I've moved on. Like I said, I got enough out of the game with the single player, which is a rarity these days for me.

Sorry but half of gaming online in CoD is skill while other is random head shots and q3a engine boredom.

Played Multiplayer yesterday for a good while, it's still very fun in small doses. I'm glad to see they haven't dropped the ball on this game.

Just because Punkbuster support has been "talked about" since patch 1.1, doesn't mean anything. The forums are alwatys "talking about" rumored features. Nothing official had come out, until now.

I imagine only dihards are still playing this multi. I tried to play it for about the first month after it came out, but I just couldn't get into it. The patches seem to have addressed most of the problems though and if they get punkbuster I might give it another try. I'm more excited about the expansion. That game is all about the single player for me.

They've never said it will be in until now and the rumours have never given a patch number until now. I believe it.
