I'm no Hercule Poirot (rest in peace, Peter...) but I assume Buka released a game called Echelon that they subsequently didn't support. A quick search revealed Echelon to be a futuristic flight sim.

More to the point, this is the Midnight Nowhere that has all the foul language and fetishism, yes? Just thought you should know in case you were wondering whether to download the demo. Hell yeah, says me.

"hell yeah" said me too when the first demo came out. "hell no" said me after actually trying it.

There was a very public row between Buka (publisher) and Madia (developer) over Echelon, which IIRC boiled down to Madia claiming that Buka never paid them a cent for the game, which they had developed at considerable expense out of their own pockets. I think that missed milestone dates may have been the justification for the lack of payment, but I don't remember everything about the dispute. The open letter that Madia wrote cast Buka in a very bad light, but it's very hard to know whether that was the whole truth or not.
